Tech Club

Are you interested in the world of Technology?  Do you like Legos?  Does the word Robotics interest your curiosity?  Do you like hands on activities?  These are some of the few things students in 6th through 8th grade, at Greene-Hills, will explore throughout the year in Technology Club.  All club members will explore the Engineering Design Process through various activities.  Students will learn how to code and program in order to compete in an annual City-Wide Robotics competition.  All club meetings will be on Mondays, after school, until 4pm.  Any student who is interested must sign-up for the club, at the beginning of the year, when sign-ups are available.  Sign-up sheets are always located in each individual grade level hallway by the Science room.  Please make sure to write your name, grade level, and homeroom teacher.  Sign-ups will be a first come, first serve basis and all new members must be voted in by elected club officers based off prior grades and conduct.  Once students are elected in, all club members must follow the listed rules below:

  • Technology Club is an extracurricular club.  Club participation will be based on grades, conduct, attendance, and behavior in school. (No grades lower than a 75 or “C”, No “N” for conduct, No Tardies, and No Suspensions)

  • Technology Club members represent Greene-Hills School.  This means all students must be held to a high standard.  What you do, say, and act represents our school.

  • All Technology Club members will follow the safety rules and procedures of Mr. Sample’s class.  Any member caught breaking these safety rules will be subject to dismissal of all club activities.

  • All Technology Club members must follow all Greene-Hills rules and expectations.

  • All Technology Club members will work with one another to accomplish any task at hand!

  • All Technology Club members will have an open mind to Technology and Concepts.

  • All Technology Club members must participate in a minimum of 6 meetings in order to attend Robotics competition.

  • Any student who cannot meet these expectations will be placed on a 2 week probation period until the expectations are met.  If the student has still not met the expectations by the end of the 2 week probation period, students are subject to immediate removal of club activities/membership.  Any school suspension will result in an immediate removal of club activities/membership.
